The map of Europe on the world comes on the western most part of the land mass of Eurasia. If one were to take a travel map with him then he would travel from Russian borders in the east to Portugal in the south west. The word Europe is derived from the Greek word Europa and the meaning of this word has evolved over ages.

In the east the boundary of this place is marked by the Ural Mountains. This continent spreads over 10,180,000 square kilometer and the number of countries it has is around fifty. On the map it is the second smallest continent in the world.

This place is the birth place of the western culture and colonialism in the sixteenth century. Most of the European nations controlled territory outside their country in other continents making them their colonies. All the world wars have also started from this continent.

The European economy is the largest on earth till date and it controls huge amount of assets under it, Europe has a history of economic growth and industrialization. The first industrial revolution took place in Europe and since then it is always on the rise. The major religion of Europe is Christianity with a bit of Islam in its south eastern parts.
