The Palestinian Territories were created by the mandate which took place in 1948. This territory has been a matter of dispute between the Israelis and the Palestinians. In the 1940s this territory has been occupied by Jordan and Egypt. Some years later it was occupied by Israel in 1967 with the six day war in which Israel gained control of this territory.

However, after the Oslo Accord this territory has been governed by Palestinian authority. The area of the territory keeps shifting according to annexations. The people of this country are mostly Arabs who settled down in this region. The maps of Palestinian territories might not give you the actual picture of area on ground.

The economy of this Territory is very poor and due to population boom in the region has got worse. There is rampant corruption in the authorities who govern the region. There is existence of chronic unemployment in the region. Due to the closure put up by the Israeli government business has suffered much; there are daily losses of millions of dollars.
