Uganda is a landlocked country situated in the eastern parts of Africa. It borders the great Lake Victoria. Uganda maps an area of 236, 040 square kilometers. The capital of the country is Kampala which is also the largest city in the country.

The official language of the country is English and Swahili. The country is a democratic republic. The country got its independence from the United Kingdom in 1962. The country has a wet climate with rain almost all round the year leaving certain dry periods.

The country is one of the poorest countries in the world and nearly seventy percent of the people live below the poverty line. This is due to faulty economic policies taken by the government. The service sector has become Uganda’s largest contributor of GDP.
