Wallis and Futuna are situated in the South Pacific between Fiji and Samoa. It’s a French overseas possession. It is situated in two hundred and sixty four square kilometers. The capital of the country is Mata-Utu which is also the largest city of the island country.

The official language of the country is French, Uvean and Futunan. The majority of the ethnic group here are Polynesian. The French president is the head of the state for these islands. The compositions of these islands are very volcanic.

The country is divided into three distinguished chiefdom. The islands have faced a lot of deforestation due to the agriculture practices of the islanders. The economic activities on these islands are limited to subsistence agriculture. Around eighty percent of the people earn their livelihood through agriculture. Major industries are copra, fishing, handicraft and lumber.
